SM Caen 2023/2024 Away Shirt
For this edition of SOW we are heading to Ligue 2 in France for the SM Caen 23/24 away kit. The shirt showcases a base colour of solid white, along with blue badges and sponsorship. A pattern of horizontal blue lines with a singular red line cut through the bottom front half of the jersey. 2023/24 was Italian manufacturer Kappa’s 2nd season producing Caen’s jerseys, with their partnership still going strong in 2024. The main front sponsor on the kit is Saint James, a French marine clothing brand founded in 1899.
Stade Malherbe Caen was founded in 1913, but only gained professional status in 1985. The Vikings finished the 2023/24 season in a painful 6th position in the Ligue 2, just marginally missing out on the play-off positions by a single point. Alexandre Mendy finished the season as the league’s top goalscorer with 22 goals. Manager Nicolas Seube will be hoping to take the side to Ligue 1 promotion in the upcoming 2024/25 season. Caen have been absent from the top flight of French football since 2019.
