Sheffield United 2024-25 Chinese New Year Shirt
In this edition of SOTW, we are focusing on the jaw-dropping, brand new Sheffield United 2024-25 Chinese New Year warm up shirt, celebrating the year of the snake. Over the past few seasons we have seen many fantastic Chinese New Year shirts, such as the beautiful Manchester City CNY kit from last season or the Man United pre match top from 2020. This time it’s the Blades’ turn to have a go and they have certainly not left us disappointed! Inspired by traditional Chinese symbols, the jersey features a base colour of solid black, accompanied by a bold red pattern that features ornamental leaves and a wood snake that stretches up the front of the shirt. Main sponsorship for the kit comes from Saudi Arabia car rental service Yelo, bringing a flash of gold to the front of the jersey.
This special edition warm up top is manufactured by Errea who have been producing Sheffield United’s kits since 2022. The shirt is likely to be showcased during the warm up to their next EFL Championship game, where they will face strugglers Hull City at Bramall Lane on January 24th. Whilst pre orders for the limited edition top have sold out on the club’s website, there will be a small amount available via the club shop on the next matchday. Sheffield United currently sit 2nd in the EFL Championship just 1 point behind leaders Leeds United. Manager Chirs Wilder will be hoping his side maintain their strong form into the 2nd half of the season, to secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
