We have been treated to another great 24/25 Premier league kit release today, with the unveiling of the stunning Manchester City 2024/25 away kit! The shirt’s design is a nod to their famous 1998/99 away top, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the club’s legendary Play-off final win against Gillingham. The new Puma kit features the same colours of neon yellow and light blue as its 1999 influencer, along with a similar collar design and badge placements. Front sponsorship comes from Etihad Airways as it has on all of City’s kits since 2009, in place of the famous Brother sponsor that was present on the 1998/99 Kappa kit.
Puma will enter its 6th season of producing Manchester City’s jerseys in 2024. The new away release is a great edition to City’s 2024 kit lineup which is looking to be quite something. Manchester City’s newest release is set to be worn by superstars such as Earling Haaland, Rodri and Ruben Dias in the clubs upcoming Premier League title defence.
Our Verdict
We are always big fans of new shirts with retro inspiration, especially when they’re done right like this one. There’s nothing new or exciting design wise with the jersey but sometimes when a classic look is so good, you don’t need to fix it. The sleeve sponsor isn’t awful but the shirt might look better without it on there. Overall we think it's a very good effort from Puma and City.
